Consequently, there’s a scarcity of English and German-speaking tour guides and travel companies catering to non-French speaking visitors. Beyond the capital city of Antananarivo, even French can be a challenge, as most of the rural population speaks only Malagasy. Recognizing this, my wife and I (fluent in French, English, German, Italian, and of course, my wife’s perfect Malagasy) have specialized in serving clients from the English and German-speaking world. Our website showcases a variety of tour offerings. However, consider these tours as mere blueprints. All trips can be custom-designed with you, according to your desires and expectations.

Our vehicles would pass even the stringent German TÜV inspections (you’ll understand why this is important within your first 10 minutes in Madagascar). ALL our tours, when possible, are personally led by us. (There’s no stranger with a cardboard sign waiting at the airport.) We don’t operate as intermediaries; we accompany you from your arrival at the airport until your departure. You can rely on our scheduling, and we remain flexible, adapting to the wishes and expectations of our guests – a rarity in this country. Desired route changes during the trip (perhaps an extra day or two at a dream beach) are no problem. Flexibility and adaptability are possible even during the journey. Klaus Konnerth

For many years, Klaus Konnerth has been making it possible to experience Madagascar in German. Our small enterprise is based in Antananarivo, Madagascar, and we offer vacations in Madagascar that adhere to German quality standards, enabling us to tailor trips to the individual wishes and expectations of our guests. After over 20 years of experience as a tour guide around the world, I have been living and working in Madagascar for the past 18 years. Why did I settle in Madagascar? Partly because I met my wife here, and partly because this island captivated me so much during my private travels before my first assignment as a tour guide that I simply don’t want to leave. Madagascar is a former French colony. Even today, the French make up the largest proportion of Madagascar tourists, so there are very few German-speaking tour guides and travel companies specializing in German guests. Away from the capital Antananarivo, even French can be difficult, as a large part of the rural population speaks only Malagasy. For this reason, I (we speak French/English/German/Italian) have specialized in customers from the German-speaking area. On our website, you will find numerous tour offers, but please consider these as rough drafts. All trips can be planned individually with you according to your wishes and expectations.
