PAC FIANARANTSOA

The Anti-Corruption Unit of Fianarantsoa has been operational since last Friday. This is the third PAC in Madagascar, following those in Antananarivo and Mahajanga. The Fianarantsoa PAC is responsible for handling cases from the Fianarantsoa and Toliara provinces.

REINDUSTRIALIZATION-SIM

The Syndicate of Industries of Madagascar insists on the urgent need for reindustrialization in Madagascar, recalling the country’s rich industrial past, and emphasizing the importance of a favorable environment for industries to develop sustainably. According to SIM, reindustrialization should prioritize local industries while finding a balance with foreign investments. However, the revitalization of the industrial ecosystem relies on energy to guarantee sufficient and reliable supply, as well as on road infrastructure to ensure an efficient network for logistics and trade, SIM emphasized during the National Symposium of the Private Sector for the presentation of the Private Sector Development Strategy (SDSP).

FIGHT AGAINST POLIO

From 2023 to 2024, seven national polio response campaign rounds were conducted in Madagascar with the aim of stopping the transmission of the virus and strengthening the collective immunity among target groups. It should be noted that Madagascar was certified polio-free country in terms of wild poliovirus in July 2018. However, since September 2020, the country has been facing a resurgence of outbreaks related to the variant polio.
