ENERGY
The Energy Investment Platform (PIE) was officially launched on Friday. It is a digital tool initiated by the Economic Development Board of Madagascar (EDBM), with the support of the GIZ Madagascar PERER project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Hydrocarbons. The PIE connects investors and project holders and allows for exploration of the potential in renewable energies.

NATIONAL LEMUR DAY
The national celebration dedicated to lemurs was held this weekend in Antsohihy, in the Sofia region, over two days. The objective was to strengthen public awareness and involvement, according to the National Tourism Office of Madagascar. This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Lemurs: a national treasure, a global pride”. According to the National Tourism Office of Madagascar, Madagascar is home to up to 112 species of lemurs, with an endemism rate of over 70%. This emblematic fauna of the island remains one of its main tourist assets, as explained.

TOOTH EXTRACTION ACTION
More than 60 people, mainly young children from the Énergie Andavamamba center, benefited from the fourth edition of the mass tooth extraction action organized yesterday by the Rotaract Club Antananarivo Faneva, the Rotary Club Saint-Denis Alizés, and the Rotary Club Hermitage Lagon. This initiative is part of the long-term actions of these associations, we explain. Dental hygiene kits, including toothbrushes and toothpaste, were distributed to these beneficiaries in addition to the medication accompanying their treatment.

WEATHER FORECAST
There will be heavy rainfall in Sofia and its surrounding areas until tomorrow evening. The rainfall intensity will range from 40 to 95 mm within 24 hours, according to the meteorological station’s report. The daily work schedule, water supply to nearby facilities, reservoir levels, and road conditions in affected areas will be affected. Some regions may experience localized flooding as a result of the heavy rainfall.

ROAD RENOVATION IN THE CAPITAL
The road repair works continue in Antananarivo. Several routes have already been renovated, according to the Urban Municipality of Antananarivo (CUA), including the one connecting Ankazotokana Ambanidia to Ambohijatovo Ambony, passing in front of the Police Headquarters of the 2nd district, as well as Anjohy and Andohalo. Renovations will continue on other routes, with exclusively nocturnal works to minimize traffic disruptions, specified Alexandre Georget, President of the Special Delegation of CUA.

SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY
As part of the National Barefoot College Program (PNBC), exchange workshops brought together solar committees from the Menabe and Melaky Regions in Morondava and Kivalo, under the direction of the Ministry of Energy and Hydrocarbons. The objective was to strengthen the sustainable management of solar electricity in the beneficiary villages of the program through experience sharing and training. The solar committees and the Solar Engineering Women (SEW) discussed financial management, users, and equipment, as indicated by WWF Madagascar. Launched in 2012, this program aims to improve access to electricity in rural areas through the involvement of local communities.

NATIONAL ROAD INCIDENT
There has been a flooding on the national road at Ambilobe, specifically at the Ifasy river crossing, located at the PK537+329 milestone, according to the Ministry of Public Works. It is important to note that the water level in the river has risen significantly due to the heavy rain. The current traffic congestion has subsided, especially for small vehicles and buses. The Colas company is expected to start repairing the road as soon as possible to avoid further damage. Minister Rafidison Richard Théodore is urging road users to comply with the instructions and signals given by the local authorities, considering the high risk of accidents in many regions of Madagascar, caused by the poor road conditions.

“NDAO HISAFA” DEBATE
The public debate “Ndao Hisafa” provided an opportunity for constructive discussions between the candidates for the municipal and communal elections in Toliara and the local citizens.
