Your journey begins with a flight to the small town of Maroantsetra, where you will board a motorboat for an exciting journey through the Antongil Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and breeding ground for humpback whales, to the Masoala Peninsula.

Individual excursions and activities
Day 1: Arrival in Masoala and Visit to the RainforestOn the first day of this three-day excursion, you will first land in Maroantsetra, as taking a flight with Air Madagascar is the fastest and most convenient way to reach Masoala. From Maroantsetra, you will continue by fast motorboat to Ambodifohara. The journey takes about one and a half hours, and in Ambodifohara, you can store your luggage directly at your accommodation at the Arol Lodge. Afterwards, the first activities are already planned. You can choose between a first visit to the rainforest and some water sports in the Bay of Antongil. In the rainforest, you can marvel at numerous extraordinary animals such as Red Ruffed Lemurs, Helmet Vangas, and many other creatures during this time of day. In the crystal-clear waters of the Antongil Bay, on the other hand, you can observe various fish and other aquatic life. Alternatively, you can also take a walk along the east coast and get to know the village life of the local residents. One of the co-founders of the Arol Lodge is from Germany and is happy to lead such a walk. Wander through plantations of clove trees, coconut palms, vanilla plants, and much more, and enjoy the peace and uniqueness of this special environment. To conclude this fascinating day, a night hike is also on the agenda. During this guided hike, you will encounter many nocturnal animals that have hidden during the day. The day ends with an overnight stay at the Arol Lodge. |

Day 2: Excursion to Nosy Mangabe and Journey to MaroantsetraOn the second day of your Madagascar adventure exploring the Masoala Peninsula, your stay at Arol Lodge has come to an end. Early in the morning, you will cross over to the island of Nosy Mangabe by boat. Nosy Mangabe is one of Madagascar's many special reserves, originally established to protect the elusive Aye-Aye. The island, nearly untouched by human hands, is now home to numerous rare animals and diverse flora. Your morning and early afternoon will be filled with explorations on the island. Afterwards, you will take a motorboat to Maroantsetra, where you can spend the rest of the day as you please. You will spend the night at Masoala Resort, indulging in delicious meals. |

Day 3: Return flight from MaroantsetraOn the third day of this small tour, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast at Masoala Resort before the team guides you back to the airport. From there, you will take a flight with Air Madagascar back towards Antananarivo or to another city in Madagascar. The adventure may, but does not have to, end for you at this point. |
