Day 1: The First Encounter with the RainforestOn your first day of this tour, the best way to reach Maroantsetra is by plane from any other location in Madagascar. From the airport, you will then take a taxi to Anjahanambo River Port. Here, a boat will be waiting for you to take you on a one and a half hour journey to Ambanizan. You can enjoy a picnic at the research station and spend the remaining hours until sunset according to your own wishes. Enjoy a beach walk, take a mini tour into the rainforest, and perhaps even experience your first little adventure as you catch a glimpse of one of the shy rainforest inhabitants. For dinner and overnight stay, you will return to the Arol Lodge. |

Day 2: Exploring the Masoala RainforestOn this wonderful day, you have the opportunity to thoroughly explore the impressive and unique Masoala Rainforest. You can customize various tours to spend the entire day immersed in the lush foliage of the forest. During your excursions through the dense foliage, you may encounter adorable lemurs such as Helmet Vangas or Red Ruffed Lemurs. Alternatively, you can use the day to interact with the local Malagasy population by exploring the villages in the surrounding area with a German-speaking guide. Don't miss out on an exciting night walk, where you will have the chance to spot the shy inhabitants of the rainforest, including Mouse Lemurs, other nocturnal lemur species, and a variety of frog species. Day 3: Visit to Tampolo Marine ReserveContrary to popular belief, Masoala National Park is not just dense foliage of the primary forest, but also has an aquatic part that you absolutely must see. And that's exactly what's on your agenda today. You will first hike in a fantastic and picturesque landscape along the coastal forest to the Marine Park. There, you will have the opportunity to swim, dive, or snorkel in the crystal-clear water and discover the diverse and breathtaking underwater world. In the late afternoon, you will be picked up by boat and taken back to the Arol Lodge, where your comfortable sleeping quarters await you. |

Day 4: Extensive Tours with Picnic in the ForestOn the fourth day of the trip, another hike through the primary forest of the Masoala Peninsula is on the agenda. This hike is dedicated to bird watching, which can be wonderfully photographed at this time of day. A delicious picnic will be provided around noon, after which you can spend the rest of the afternoon as you please: Choose the azure blue sea and spend the hours until the evening with a relaxing swim or small snorkeling expeditions. Alternatively, you can continue to roam through the rainforest and visit breathtaking waterfalls. Once again, the Arol Lodge will take care of full board and accommodation on this day. |

Day 5: The Special Reserve of Nosy MangabeOn the fifth day, you will discover something completely new and embark on a boat trip early in the morning to the island of Nosy Mangabe. This island is an absolutely untouched special reserve: animal sightings are just as likely as spotting numerous exceptional and unique plant species, which are extremely rare even in Madagascar. Uroplatys, pygmy chameleons, rare lemurs, and many other animals can be found in the special reserve of Nosy Mangabe, where they have found a relatively safe and protected home. Around 3 pm, the boat will take you back to Maroantsetra, where you will spend the night at the Masoala Resort. |

Day 6: Leaving the Masoala PeninsulaOn the sixth day, your adventure on the Masoala Peninsula usually comes to an end as you board a flight back to Antananarivo or wherever you wish to go.
