Day 1 - Journey to ManampatranaYour journey begins in Sahambavy, where we recommend a stay at the wonderful Lac Hotel. The breakfast at this hotel is the first point of your travel plan and will provide you with the energy needed for the day ahead. You will now embark on a very special train ride that will take approximately half a day to reach Manampatrana. There, you will find the Faraony River winding its way through numerous rice fields. As the train continues southward, you will quickly be enveloped by the impressive atmosphere of the place. A sense of peace and relaxation fills the air, which is hard to put into words. You will now board the canoes and navigate through some gentle rapids, classified as Class I and II. After a leisurely ride, the camp will be set up by the riverbank where you will be treated to a delicious and freshly prepared meal. The team takes care of preparing the meals themselves and places great emphasis on local cuisine. If you wish, you can explore the area in the evening and take in the impressive nature of the region. The starry sky that will reveal itself at night is a truly romantic highlight.

Day 2: The Adventure on the Faraony BeginsThe second day of this small tour through Madagascar is all about canoeing and is spent almost entirely on the water. Numerous beaches and wonderful rock formations line the shores, offering countless breathtaking photo opportunities. You will then reach the Onilahy River. Throughout this day, you will encounter many friendly locals, who may occasionally cause an unplanned stop. Enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of ease and relaxation before spending the night once again in a camp on a sandbank. |

Day 3: Heading to Mahabako Train StationOn the third day of the boat tour, you will travel on the river to the Mahabako Train Station, where the tour ends. From here, the river would become much more challenging for inexperienced canoeists as it gets wilder before flowing into the Indian Ocean. Planning is required for the train journey onwards, as the train does not run every day. Therefore, you should not embark on this tour on a whim, but rely on our experience and knowledge. In the evening, you will arrive in Manakara, from where you can embark on further trips and tours. However, the services of this tour package end in Manakara. |
