Masoala
The Masoala Peninsula is one of the most biodiverse places on earth. It includes the Masoala Peninsula, Nosy Mangabe, and Antongil Bay.
The tropical rainforests extend from the white sandy beaches of Antongil Bay to the mountainous center, 1224 meters above sea level.
Within the park, visitors will find ecosystems ranging from coral reefs to mid-altitude rainforests.
This is an ideal tour for traveling with children, and we have several offers in this fascinating landscape.
Motorcycle Tours and Rental
On any of our motorcycle tours in Madagascar, you will be in the midst of a unique natural environment. From north to south, you will traverse one of the largest islands in the world. In Madagascar, the savannah dotted with baobabs resembles Africa, and the trails wind through exquisite landscapes.
We also offer motorcycle rentals.
Off-Road Driving in Madagascar
Traveling by car
The infrastructural conditions in Madagascar are very different from those in Europe. Those who have traveled by car on the African continent and quickly adapted to the conditions there often assume that similar conditions exist in Madagascar. Unfortunately, this is not the case: the road conditions are often chaotic, and we generally do not recommend traveling by car without a driver. However, we know that traveling through Madagascar off the beaten path offers significantly more adventure, action, and perhaps even some unforgettable experiences. Therefore, we have added off-road driving to our program. These are various off-the-beaten-path offers where driving in a four-wheel-drive vehicle is one of the highlights of the trip.
Drive yourself or be driven
Our off-road trips will take you on routes and paths in Madagascar that you probably wouldn’t even recognize as roads. Partly inaccessible terrain offers different levels of difficulty, from rather leisurely off-road tours, where you can spend large stretches behind the wheel if you wish, to truly adventurous trips where you must overcome various obstacles and reach your destination thanks to the extensive experience of specially trained drivers. We work exclusively with reliable partners, highly experienced drivers, and top-quality vehicles. However, our off-road trips tend to be a bit more expensive due to the above-average wear and tear on the vehicles. You can find exact calculations in the corresponding offers or ask us directly. If you wish, we can also tailor an off-road trip entirely to your preferences. All you need to do is contact us.
Ornithological Tours
We have bird-watching tours in the program, but we also spend a lot of time observing other wildlife.
This is because so many amazing creatures live in Madagascar, and the bird list is relatively short. It is still designed to observe as many birds as possible while we spend additional time on exotics and other target species.
Photography is welcome, and this tour is very suitable for casual photography.
Paragliding
Madagascar offers countless opportunities for different people to explore the island in impressive and unique ways.
One particularly extraordinary option is our paragliding adventure tours.
Far from mass tourism, we offer you the chance to explore Madagascar from a bird’s eye view and get to know the breathtaking landscapes and various features of this island in an even more individual and personal way. Madagascar presents itself as an island with numerous spots that will impress you as an experienced paraglider.
Photography Tours
Madagascar is unlike anywhere else – vast, breathtaking, amazingly diverse, and largely untouched – a wonderful backdrop for a photography workshop with Pierre Koval.
Madagascar has earned its reputation as one of the world's leading venues for wildlife photography tours and has recently become a true mecca for wildlife photographers.
The degree of endemism (unique species) on this island is simply overwhelming.
Landscape photography, wildlife photography – the tours will take you to the baobabs in Morondava, the mountain cloud forest, or the highlands.
Rare lemur species such as the Aye-Aye or Indri Indri, chameleons, insects, and birds are only found here in Madagascar.
During this Madagascar photo tour with Pierre Koval, we will explore all the highlights of the country, and we will take you to the right places at the right times to capture the perfect images you expect.
RN7 Variants
Madagascar offers numerous opportunities for unforgettable impressions and experiences.
As a classic travel route for those visiting Madagascar for the first time and wanting to see as much of the island as possible, a trip from Antananarivo along the RN7 to Tulear is recommended.
This tour offers an incredible variety of landscapes and customization options, with much to see along the route and many variants and extension tours possible.
This route covers just under 1,000 kilometers and reveals a magnificent view of the various wonders and beauties Madagascar has to offer. It can also be adapted to many specific tours, such as ornithological tours, photography tours, motorcycle tours, and much more.
This tour concludes harmoniously under the Tropic of Capricorn in a cozy lodge by the Mozambique Channel.
Splendor of the Trails
“The Splendor of the Trails – experience Terra Incognita in Madagascar with us” tour offers you the opportunity to consider an extraordinary and unique offer on the market. The long version goes over the highlands and the mountain cloud forest to the Indian Ocean. After that, the adventure begins on the trails in the east to Fort Dauphin. The second part goes to the deep south, and then in the third part of the journey, it goes along the west coast and possibly to the Tsingy of Bemaraha. The tour is also offered in three shorter versions.
The East of Madagascar
The eastern part of Madagascar once had a continuous, lush green corridor of lowland rainforests stretching along the eastern escarpment to an altitude of 800m.
Under this vast forest canopy, countless species found an ideal habitat. Unfortunately, this natural balance has been completely reversed, and these forests are now among the most threatened habitats in the world.
However, this region still hosts Madagascar’s last vast rainforests: Masoala, the greatest natural experience in Madagascar, as well as Sainte Marie Island, Ranomafana, Andasibe, the Pangalanes Canal along the Indian Ocean, the Vanilla Coast, and the splendor of the tracks in the southern part of the east coast.
After so much wildlife, many visitors choose to visit the relaxed marine ecosystem of Sainte Marie (also known as Nosy Boraha) and relax under the palms of the incredible beaches of this small paradise.
During the southern winter, Sainte Marie is also a perfect place to observe humpback whales.
The North of Madagascar
Give in to temptation and discover landscapes more fabulous than any other.
Nosy Be is the main island of an archipelago comprising a dozen small islands. It is called the island of scents because of its fragrances of Ylang Ylang, sugar cane, and spices.
Diego Suarez is the main city in northern Madagascar. It is a dreamy destination offering a variety of nautical and land activities in an incredible and breathtaking environment.
There are many impressive national parks like Montagne d’Ambre, Marojeji, Ankarana, as well as the Emerald Sea and the Red Tsingy, waiting for you there.
The South of Madagascar
To enjoy the exceptional wealth and beauty of the coastline, despite the relatively difficult access, several tours such as the splendor of the tracks are organized in southern Madagascar.
The coastline from Tulear to Fort-Dauphin, at the southernmost tip of the large island, will delight lovers of vastness and breathtaking landscapes.
A completely endemic vegetation in these regions guarantees a total change of scenery and justifies the sporty and adventurous aspects of your trip to these remote areas of Madagascar.
Endless sandy tracks, radiated tortoises at Cap Sainte Marie, Mahafaly tombs, and much more await you in the deep south.
The West of Madagascar
From Antananarivo heading west, the first interesting destination is Ampefy. The splendor of the western trails traverses thorn forests filled with baobabs, euphorbias, aloes, and kalanchoes, which you can also see on a botanical tour. The Tsingy of Bemaraha, Morondava, Kirindy, Tsangajoly, Tulear, Majunga, and Nosy Be are also located in the western part of Madagascar. Discover the Tsingy of Bemaraha National Park with its impressive rock formations and the Avenue of the Baobabs near Morondava. Majunga, also known as Mahajanga, is called the city of flowers. As a port city and capital of the northwestern region of Madagascar, it offers a grand natural and cultural landscape. On your journey there, you can visit the Ankarafantsika National Park. Further up in the northwest are Nosy Be and the surrounding islands.
